The challenge this week was to use the photo of a leafy green spring tree on a white background and do an extraction using the method of selecting the white color background and inverting the image. This is an excellent method when you have a highly detailed edge and worked perfectly for me.
I extracted the tree, changed the hue and saturation to extremes. Pasted it into a layer on top of a photo of an ocean scene (source unknown) at three different locations, changing the shape each time using transform to shrink, resize and rotate the tree changing it into a bush on the lower right. Where the tree was in front of the fence, I merely used my eraser tool to remove that section with only some branches hanging over the fence (left). I used brushes (birds)and added them to the sky.
It helped to have each tree on a separate layer.
