Skinny-Mini Texture Lesson

For today's homework we were to apply two textures from Kim Klassen on top of our image.  One was dark and the other fairly light.  Using blending modes to reduce the opacity of the textures and applying masks to areas where I didn't want the texture to appear created the result below.  On the left-hand side I removed most of the texture from the plum blossoms because I wanted them to be crisp.  Look at the result on the right-hand side.  Interesting effect!  I also added a gradient to the top to add some blue for the sky.

I forgot to add my piece from yesterday where we were to remove some of the green color from the stem of the carnation.
